Castlegate expands at Caldicot

Further expansion is planned at the prestigious Castlegate Business Park, a 17-acre mixed use, multi-occupied business park at Caldicot by Robert Hitchins Limited, following recent tenant commitments, planning approvals and completion of the second phase of refurbishments there. Monitor Offshore Systems has committed to a lease on just under 4,000 sq ft at the park in newly refurbished space. The company designs infrastructure for oil rigs in the North Sea and has relocated from Chepstow.

Robert Hitchins has acquired planning consent for a further 20,000 sq ft of office accommodation at the site in units ranging from 3,000 sq ft to 7,000 sq ft including a nursery unit.

Other development options are also under consideration at the site.

New parking areas for more than 120 vehicles are to be constructed early in the new year.

The refurbishment of the main reception area, internal walkways and new conference and office suites has been completed.

There are also plans to create a new fitness centre in the new year - this is the subject of an application to the Sports Council for Wales for grant funding.

Castlegate has already undergone significant transformation in recent months, with leading occupier Mitel Networks, a major global provider of enterprise and small business communications solutions, now housed in its fully refurbished 47,000 sq ft (4,366 sq m) European headquarters.

The project, undertaken by Paramount Office Interiors to Mitel's precise requirements, has created a state of the art workspace with training areas, conference suites, break-out areas and a coffee shop.

Other existing occupiers at Castlegate include Zarlink Semiconductors, Newport Networks, Megachem and Advantage Voice, who are also expanding their operation on site.

Offering easy access to the M4 and M5, Castlegate is just minutes from the two Severn Bridge crossings connecting Bristol with Newport, Cardiff and beyond, making it an ideal base for companies seeking to access the west country and Welsh markets.

The 45-minute drive to work catchment area encompasses around one million people, giving incoming companies access to a highly skilled local workforce.

High quality boardroom, conference and meeting facilities are available, as is high bay warehousing, ideal for archive storage.

The Marriott St.

Pierre Hotel and Country Club and Chepstow Racecourse are also nearby, with Aztec West just 13 miles and 15 minutes' drive away.

Located next to the gatehouse of Caldicot Castle, and with the Wye Valley also only a short drive away, the Park is also an ideal spot from which to explore the local area and enjoy its varied leisure pursuits.
