ISG Totty puts away latest deal at HMP Preston

ISG Totty has been awarded a GBP1 million project with the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) at HMP Preston, under its seven-year partnering framework deal to encompass refurbishment, alteration, extension, planned maintenance and minor works projects for the Service's North-West region. This latest project at HMP Preston in Lancashire will see ISG Totty strip the existing roof on the Victorian chapel building and replace this with a modern pitched composite metal roof design. The contractor will commence work to stabilise and retain the building's impressive timber roof supports, as well as carry out internal remodelling and rationalisation of space, and undertake remedial repairs to the chapel's facade.

The fast-track project is due for completion in January 2007.

John Gittins, managing director of ISG Totty, commented: 'The partnering framework approach is a highly effective method for delivering complex projects, with the client and contractor working together from the outset of an individual scheme, developing a high quality and efficient construction solution.'
