TriaGnoSys and 3Way Networks to introduce in-flight communications for business jet passengers

A 3G in-flight passenger communications service is to be introduced for the business jet market by 3Way Networks, a provider of 3G network solutions, and TriaGnoSys, a provider of remote communications solutions.

The companies said the in-flight communications solution will enable executives travelling on business jets to remain connected to customers and the office while travelling. It will allow them to make and receive calls and access bandwidth-heavy 3G applications via their laptop computers.

TriaGnoSys said growth in the business jet market in North America and Europe has resulted from problems experienced when flying on commercial aircraft and has led to a growth in demand for in-flight capabilities on jet aircraft. Business jet travel has increased twice as quickly as the remainder of air traffic since 2001, according to EUROCONTROL, an air traffic management agency.

The services are expected to provide HSDPA rates of up to 3.6Mb/s and enable ten simultaneous voice calls, offer lower power consumption, ease of installation and maintenance and meet the needs of the business jet market.
